Captain, we're talking damage on the starboard Hull. It's lasers, fired by a Nitrian Cruiser." A man no older than twenty-five calls as several damage notifications appear on his console. "Anything break through?" The captain, a seven-and-a-half foot tall wolf-man hybrid responds as he stands, staring out the front view ports. "Hull is still at seventy five percent integrity. Shields are down and recharging." The man supplies, answering the Captain's next question before it's asked. "Nitrian Cruiser is down. She's dead in the water Captain. Want us to board or destroy?" A female voice rings out, coming from an overhead com unit. The Captain smirks before he orders a board and sweep. That's another ship for upgrades. "Captain, will you be joining?" She asks after relaying the orders." His response is an immediate barking laughter over the com. "Clearly, but let one or two escape pods launch. We'll hunt them down later. It makes it so much better to see their feeble attempts to escape." The Captain quickly strides down to the hangar, where several armed crew members are loading ammunition, armor and med kits onto drop-ships . "Captain on deck!" One yells before they all immediately halt and bow before getting busy again. "Captain. Reinforcement is incoming. Two ships inbound, ETA ten minutes." One of the bridge crew says over the com. "Hear that? We gotta get in and out before the reinforcements arrive. I wanna be out of here with that ship in tow by the time nine minutes pass. Board the drop-ship and get ready to spill some blood!" The Captain declares as his crew cheer in excitement. This is only the third ship that they've taken. And they have been fighting for over six months. "ETA to the ship, thirty seconds. Be prepared for resistance." The pilot announces as she fires rockets into the hangar door. "Move out and stay in patrol formation. Clear these sons of bitches out." The Captain barks as he runs into the fray, rifle in hand. "No prisoners!" After five minutes the ship is clear of enemies as two escape pods launch before being destroyed by automatic fire from the Wolfstar's turrets. "Find me a ship manifest, I need to know what this bitch was carrying so I can destroy it or use it." The Captain growls. "And count our casualties. Anyone who is injured beyond service needs to be stabilized and moved back to the Wolfstar, anyone who is still capable is to navigate this ship to the Chop Shop. Skeleton crew, move out." A group of crew in sleeker armor slips away from the crew carrying boxes and crates to the hangar and heads towards the bridge while the Captain marches over to one of the dead soldiers before he yanks his dog tags off. "Sergeant J. Bucks. How Terran of a name is that?" He grumbles before taking the man's pistol off his hip. "Captain, updated ETA, five minutes." The pilot calls from the cockpit of the drop-ship. "Warm her up, we're out of here in three." The Captain barks. At the same time In a bar across universes "That BASTARD! He attacks in cold blood and has the audacity to destroy a peaceful ship?" A man sitting at a bar complains as a news report of the Wolfstar is being shown on the mounted holo-screen above the bartender's head. "Peaceful or not, he's fighting against massive odds." Another man announced, setting his empty glass down on the counter. The bartender quickly refills it. "Gods, he reminds me of Harlock. The Robin Hood of space." "Careful. Say his name too many times and he appears to fuck you up." The bartender warns as he polishes a glass. "What's he gonna do? Bite me? He's more beast than man!" The man cursing about the space Captain replies, clearly drunk. "Rios, escort this man out. He's drunk and I'm cutting him off. He's also causing commotion." The bartender calls out to his bouncer. "You got it Dice." Rios replies, firmly grabbing the man's upper arm and guiding him out of the building. "Doin ok Boss? You seem tense." Another man walks over to Dice before asking. "I'm fine Sylas." Dice sighs as he checks the time. "Alright folks, cutoff time. Any final drinks before I start closing down the bar?" When no one walks up, he quickly starts to wipe down the bar and clean up. Rios walks back up and grabs a rag to wipe down tables while Sylas grabs a broom to start sweeping. After a couple hours and everyone was gone, there was a heavy knock on the door of the bar. Both bouncers stopped cleaning and went to investigate, weapons in hand. When they made it to the door, there was a tall silhouette, on the frosted glass, "Hey Dice? You mind coming up here for a minute?" Sylas calls. "Be right there!" Dice shouts back before hopping the bar and skidding over to the door, "It's Erik. Let him in." "You sure Boss-Man?" Rios asks, his right ear twitching. "Very, I've known Erik far longer than I've owned this bar." Dice replied, opening the door so the man can step inside. The man's footsteps resonate throughout the empty building as he walks up to the counter and sits down. "Bit late for a drink i'nnit there friend?" Rios asks the man, who while sitting, is still taller than him. "The names Erik, 'friend'. If you refer to me, it's by name." Erik replies in a low growl. "Besides, you should recognize your superiors, and show them respect." Rios is shocked at Erik's words, and steps back, his ears angling back in anger. "This isn't your establishment asshole." "Calm down Rios. Show some discipline. Warrior my ass, good Lord of the Multiverse. By the way Erik, this is yours from a mutual friend." Dice slides a mug of ale across the counter to Erik. "He said he'd toast to your accomplishments if it weren't for the fact that he has a kingdom to run and his daughter was visiting for the first time in a while." "Tell the king and his men I said cheers then." Erik holds up his mug in a cheers motion. "Will do. By the way, Jace is looking for work." Dice replies. "And the bar isn't something he's trained for." "You expect me to find work for a rogue?" Erik asks incredulously. "No, I expect you to babysit my fourteen year old son who's skills are in stealth, silent kills, and sleight of hand." Dice replies, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Of fucking course I do." "I swear to Wodin, drop the sarcasm." Erik smirks, "Or Jace won't even see the inside of an airlock." Both Erik and Dice laugh at that, before Erik throws back the rest of his drink and drops a handful of credits on the counter. "Thanks for the drink, seeya around Dice." Erik stalks to the door and leaves, just as quickly as he entered. "And why did he have to come in? We were closed, you said it yourself." Rios looks at Dice while asking this. "As I said, I've known Erik for far longer than I've owned this bar. And that is no lie." Dice sighs, explaining what he said earlier in the night.

"Kid, get up, the horde is gone, and your crew is alive and back. Let's go." A man says, shaking Ransie from his nap.
"How can you tell? That they're back I mean." Ransie asks.
"Well, I can hear the idle from here, and that A.I. isn't quiet. Not by a long shot."
Ransie grunts in admittance. And he grabs the gear he left hours before. And he takes a couple of the guns Bass had lying around. A shotgun, two light machine guns and a submachine gun. Not to mention five ammo boxes.
"Cortana, ping the Hummer." Ransie commands.
"Done." Cortana replies, instantly.

I never asked to be a warrior, a soldier, a mindless pawn in a game of chess. If you see yourself in my words, stop reading and burn the book. If you see this as fiction, as a made up story, I envy you.
I'm Matthaios, son of Chaos and Thanatos. This meaning, I hold powers no primordial should, I control the Doors of Death on a more powerful scale! I am death and creation, power and void! I'm unlike any warrior before...
